For the presentation due on the 28th March, we chose our group which consists of myself, Carlie and Tasha.
We decided that our theme for the presentation was going to be the issue against animal testing. After researching information about the subject it was interesting to see other campaigners and lists of companies that do and don't test their products on animals. We felt that this was quite a strong subject as there are many arguments for and against it, lots of information on why they use animals and why some companies use on humans instead. It has given us a lot to talk about therefore we can use a variety of media platforms, such as a Facebook and Twitter account for our organisation.
In the lesson we started making a Facebook group, telling users that we are an organisation against animal testing on beauty products. This is initially to get users to be aware that there are campaigners out there that care about the welfare of these innocent animals. It also gives users the opportunity to express their own views on the matter.
During the next few weeks leading up to the presentation, we are going to explore more in depth the argument against animal testing and gather up some strong pointers. We are also going to develop our ideas and create a 'no make-up' for the day campaign which will get anybody who agrees with the argument to not wear make-up in order to raise awareness and also create a focus group/questionnaire amongst girls who are passionate about wearing make-up to gather our own statistics. Hopefully everything we come up with will create room for expansion.
