Cyber Culture
Being introduced to the world of Cyber Culture, which is... obviously the internet was very interesting! It is seen as one of the most significant developments in Media due to how much it has changed the way we access media, for example many people now will read the news on the internet rather than buy a newspaper. We learned that it is redefining the relationship between media and user- one based on a dialogue rather than passive consumption. We are all connected, we can share ideas, images and information. We discussed how it has effected people and media, knowing now that you can access and gather so much information from once source. This was interesting to see how much this has effected other types of media, like newspapers, television, books etc. The internet has put all these sources at risk of dying out. For this lecture's assignment I have decided to chose this essay question; Outline and discuss the impact Apple has had on the contemporary media industry. I have chose to do this question because I am familiar with Apple and as I am currently reading Steve Jobs' book I feel I can gather lots of information in order for me to answer this question.
