Assignment - Identifying relevant information

Keith was explaining in the lesson that it is very important that we write in a critical and analytical rather than descriptive style during this assignment. Before we start writing, we need to clarify the task and asses the title. Remember to write down a series of questions that we need to know in order to be able to answer the question. Helpful tips are to make a scattergram of ideas and main point that we want to address. Most importantly, weight up the argument and claim in the evaluation to clarify the argument. I have struggled in the past during many assignments because throughout school, especially in English, it was noticeable that I was a good creative and descriptive writer which seems to be showing through in my essays - unfortunately at University it is not what they want! I am going to take all feedback into account and practice writing in the critical and analytical style to help me boost my marks up. Hopefully this will help me to not fall in the descriptive trap again.
