Cross Platform Television Programming
During the first two sessions back for this module, we have been looking more in depth at cross platform television programming. For our presentation which is answering the Nine Lives question, I have been researching less popular shows to see how their multi-platform techniques work and if they have made an impact on the audience like the more popular shows such as Million Pound Drop and Who Wants to be a Millionaire. I am going to be researching statistics and using information that I have gathered from a focus group to show who uses a second screen and what they gain out of it. It will be more interesting to compare shows, as it will give a clearer idea of what is working at what is not. However, with most people owning a second screen device such as a smartphone, tablet and pc's it is easy to access these so they are becoming noticeably popular. Soon most television channels and shows will offer a second screen service to boost ratings and to increase profits from advertising.
