TV Studio Production

Set Design

Today our group met Kelly and Ian to discuss the set for the TV Show. At first we were unsure about what we would need in terms of the props because the initial idea I had in my head was a very clean and clinical look, although after more discussion we realised that it would look to bare and bland. I researched Channel 4 sets and they all came up varying, but eventually I took my inspiration from the T4 set which is very colourful and quirky. I also decided to include a French colour theme so it fits in with the name of the show, with blues, whites and reds on the backdrop and other props such as lamps and cushions to make it more of a homely feel. It will be more interesting on the eye too which is what we want to fit the brief. We are going to have the demonstration area separate to the main set because we are going to have stone brick print fabric on the wooden backdrop with the colours on the boxing club on it, for example their boxing gloves pinned up. I feel a lot more confident after buying the coloured materials for the set today because it is bringing us closer to being fully organised and prepared for the show.
