Facebook
In Keiths lesson we watched an hour long BBC documentary on Mark Zuckerburg and how he created Facebook. It sort of was as if he found it by accident and also nearly got kicked out of Harvard in the process because it started off as a website to compare the atrractiveness of girls within the school. Which then fortunatly developed into Facebook. The documentary explored how Facebook has changed people's lives and how it has impacted the world. Most people they interviewed said on average they spend anything between half an hour to three hours on Facebook a day. 'It has become addictive' many of them said. It was interesting to see how many people are now using it and how they have managed to get in touch with people that they haven't seen for years and how it keeps them always connected. I would personally argue that it discloses too much information and does not really protect peoples' privacy, this has lead to people making fake accounts to get in touch with people that they do not know and it has also lead to other things such as child grooming etc. The list can go on, however I am not entirely sure about how I feel about Facebook. As a 20yr old I can understand how I can protect my privacy, although when you are younger this is harder.
