Beyond the Camera

Introduction to Magical Illusion

Our first assignment task for Beyond the Camera was to create a magical illusion on Adobe Photoshop. We had to source our own imagery, but could add a background which we had no taken ourself or vice versa. I used a picture of my brother and his friend in their Army uniforms and put them into a teacup ride in Disneyland which i found on google images. I thought this fit the brief of juxtaposition as the picture that i took of them in their uniforms is a serious and formal image compared to the teacups in Disneyland which is aimed at children. This task was quite challenging at first because I had forgotten how to use some of the tools on Photoshop such as the tool to cut out part of an image. This took a few attempts but once i got the hang of what to do I managed to cut them out quite well. I used the rubber tool to smooth out the edges so it didn't look so messy. Once I got familiar with doing this I feel like i could do more without any help.
