Courtoline

Today in class we had to come up with an orgininal idea for a new game that is able to be played within the Screen School building. The game we came up with is called 'Courtoline.' A slight play on words, as our game is based on a trampoline court. How it works is, the whole room's floor is a trampoline with court markings on it. The trampoline is not raised so it is more safer as you cannot fall off onto hard floor. The trampoline has a football/hockey net at each end of the lenght of the court. At the width of the court there is a basketball/netball net and there is a removable green net in the middle if the court for any players fancy playing tennis. The court can hold up to 12 players at a time, with the game being 6 a side. It can even be used on your own for practice or exercise. We thought this game has a lot to give as it is fun, makes you move and experience new types of sports and its also good for exercise and shifting a few pounds! This makes working out much more fun and enjoyable, everyone can participate as it does not require a certain level of fitness. There are no specific rules to this game, however the standard rules for netball, hockey and basketball apply. The rules are slackened on football as the trampoline is no where near the size of a pitch. The winner will be clear as there is a manual scoreboard so you can track your goals. Finally, going back to the safety aspects of it, the walls and edges of the trampoline have removable padded mats in place during a game incase someone lands in an awkward place and there are also helmets, knee and elbow pads if necessary.
